I am as conservative as they come. I love saying that, because when you tell people you are ultra conservative, they instantly conjure up images of Hitler at a podium shrilly spewing demagogue while legions of brain washed SS goose step by. What I love about this, is the associations of this kind to conservatism only show the vapid reactionary training of who I speak with. Since the turn of the century, the oppositions of conservatism have been trying to push whatever villain is in their side of the fence over onto ours. Nazi...A homogenization of two words. Nationalism and Socialism. ( The Z is cause of those zany Germanic words) Now I can see where the Nationalism could be misconstrued as a Conservative doctrine. Because in many regards it is. Conservatives like to preserve the sovereignty, security, and economy of the land in which we live. However, the Nationalism of the Nazi's was a completely different animal. It was a Nationalism based off of Democracy. There I said it. And yes, Democracy is a bad thing. OK I know your mouse is sliding toward that little x in them upper right corner, but hang just a minute. Let me explain. And borrow. A popular (at least to me) Radio host, Neal Boortz, describes democratic rule as Mob rules... And he ain't lyin'. democracy is the rule of percentages. As long as 51% say yes, 49% are left in the cold. That's fine and dandy if you happen to be in the 51%. Unfortunately, the Jews in 1938 in Germany and Poland did not have anywhere near that kind of majority. If only there had been some kind of RULE OF LAW to protect them from being the economic scapegoats of Kaiser Wilhelm, the Communists, the Socialists, the Catholics, the Nazis ad nauseum. That would have been a Republican tenant. You see, a Republic is a State that has a Rule of Law as a guide by which all legislation is evaluated. The legislation may have 99% democratic support, but the 1% is protected if the laws of the land are upheld, and the democratic majority gets sideways of those laws. Thomas Jefferson put it very well. Quote " Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what is for dinner. A republic is the lamb, very well armed, contesting the vote."
The point being, the support of National law is conservative through and through (in the regards that law is scientific and not political. But that is an entirely different post), but fanatical, blind support of the nation because the populace as a whole have been swept up in the fervor of a cult of personality (read OBAMA SUPPORTERS) is purely democratic, and purely liberal, er, progressive (as in the two trains progressed toward the point at which they crashed and everyone died. That is also progress).
We as a nation have that rule of law. It is called the Constitution and the Bill or Rights. This is probably the greatest doctrine produced by man in all his sordid history. And it also makes sense that is why we continually try to denigrate, dissolve, rewrite and ignore it. It keeps us from doing the things we are naturally motivated to do, which is to inflict harm on others, destroy morality, steal (read income tax), etc. This document was far from perfect. There was that whole slave thing based on components of race...
When, during this election, did we ever look at which candidate would work to restore and uphold this document of the Republic as they will SWEAR to do on their inauguration. In present to you, neither one. Nor will the democratic congress, nor did the Republican congress or the last 3 administrations, for that matter.
And that brings us to the central theme of this blog post. WHAT HAPPENED TO US? Who voted on the principles of the republic in which we live and prosper, the Republic that allowed us the freedom to have the right to choose (kind of, but more on that later) our leaders in the first place? No one on either side. And news flash for all of you Rush babies out there (and yes, I listen and think he is a remarkable individual) We have had a democratic president and congress since 1989. And many time before that. The smokescreen has been the little (R)'s and (D)'s that we all go into hysteria about by the names of our teams. Politics has come so far down to the lowest common denominator that for most the process is merely supporting the recognition of symbols. People lose sleep over this. "Can you believe what the R's are doing to the economy?" "Those damn D's are ruining this Country!" Meanwhile the R's and D's switch sides whenever it is convenient and they have not too much of a stink with the other side of the isle to immigrate, because they are all unworthy power whores.

So, I'm confused. Did you vote for Obama or not?
(change)
you asked for it, you got it....Obama!
You guys did not seriously read that he was an Obama supporter from that...did you? If so, you need to go back and reread a little slower.;)
I think he is a "closet" Obama-crat!
You should really check your facts concerning the Nazi's.
Roman Catholics Priests who opposed the Nazi's were also imprisoned in the concentration camps, but not in the numbers like the Jews.
Hitler also despised the gypsies and the Poles sending thousands of them to their deaths.
There were those that opposed the Nazi's but their protests were short lived as they were marked as traitors. I have a good movie about this called Stofie Scholl, about a college student who protested against Nazism and reaped the results. The Nazi's did not hide the fact that if you opposed them you would have a bad way to go....our hausmiester in Germany told us that all over the city were posters warning them to watch for the Kohlenghoule ??sp (literally the coal-ghoul) meaning a black monster. a reference to the SS black uniforms. This was clearly meant to intimidate.
I am not sure I would take everything Neal Bortz says as factual.
I would not take whatever ANYONE said as 100% factual. That would be assinine. As assuming someone else would is assinine
